This old photo is labeled “Hansen house and town hall,” and shows the current Windham School Department central office when it was simply a house, and located a little closer to the brick town hall, which is today’s Windham Historical Society headquarters. The Hansen house was moved to the left and for many years was a boarding home for teachers in the area. Later, it was a two-family house. Today it has had a large addition and is used for school offices. The photo is one of probably thousands of historic photos in the archives of the Historical Society, which is open on Thursdays and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 234 Windham Center Road.
