Back From Vegas
Don Swander of Windham, and two of his sons from South Portland, have returned from Las Vegas after staying three days to help his youngest son, Greg, celebrate his 21st birthday. Greg returned to Denver where he is spending this semester. Greg will be returning to Windham for Christmas. Don reports the trip was great and being able to spend time with three of his boys was worth every penny he spent (or lost).
To the Civic Center
Kimberly Morrell, Josie Morrell, Elsie Haskell, John Morrell, Kathy Gilman and Wally and Charlotte Wyman, all of Windham, went to the Cumberland County Civic Center Oct. 19 to the Bill Gaither Homecoming Concert.
Carolyn and Stanley Lynch of Windham, and their friends, Murray and Barbara Roberts of Westbrook, also attended the concert.
Health Council Meets
The Windham Health Council will meet Nov. 7 at 1:30 p.m. at the home of Freda Scott. Refreshments will be served. The council is also looking for new members.
Genealogy at Historical Society
Windham Historical Society has several file drawers filled with genealogy information for most of Windham’s old families, but would appreciate hearing from anyone who has done research or has information they would share on their family. In particular, there have been many inquiries about the Field family (Jacob and Cyrus) and Stuart (or Stewart). They are also looking for information on an Alvah Brown, who married Mamie Jeffords in the early 1900s in South Windham. Contact Kay Soldier at 892-5381 (between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m.) or e-mail her at kso48@aol.com if you have done any genealogy which you would share with the society.
Thought of the week:
Notice your strength, your prettiness, your courage, your caring. Others do.
