The Bonny Eagle girls placed ninth with 211 points at Saturday’s Class A state championship cross country meet at Leavitt High School in Turner. The Scots had a terrific fourth-place run from sophomore Lauren Dudley.

Other Bonny Eagle runners who ran well on Saturday included Amber Dostie (12), Ashley Cox (64), Keeley Cronin (65), Cori Simmons (66), Erika Glidden (86) and Kelly Martin (95).

Windham freshman Erin Flatley ran a super race in her first state championship appearance. The young Eagle runner posted a time of 21:33.00, which gave her 12th place overall. It was also the best freshman girls time in Class B.

Brunswick won the girls event followed by Scarborough, Brewer and Massabesic.

Bonny Eagle senior Noah Schoneberg finished seventh, leading the Scots to an eighth-place finish among the 15 boys teams competing for the Class A title.

The rest of Bonny Eagle running contingent included Murphy Doughty (38), Timothy Belanger (42), Colton Tinker (60), Greg Martin (64), Dalton Groeger (85), and Kyle St. Jean (105).

Lewiston won the boys event with 79 points followed by Cheverus, Portland and Scarborough.

Gray-New Gloucester senior Cameron Betts performed well at the Class B state meet in Turner where he finished in 19th place overall with a clocking of 17:59.03.
