FOX23, Portland’s local Fox affiliate television station, announced last week that Thomas Mac Arthur, of Windham, has been named president and general manager, effective Oct. 1.
Formerly, Mac Arthur held the title of FOX23’s general sales manager. Mac Arthur brings major market management and more than 25 years of media credentials to his new role. He has held senior sales and management positions with a variety of stations. His former titles include; national sales manager and director of sports for Fox in Chicago, vice president/general manager of WLMT in Memphis, Tenn., vice president/general manager of KDSM in Des Moines, Iowa, and general manager of WRSP in Springfield, Ill.
Mac Arthur welcomes the new responsibilities.
“This is an exciting challenge and opportunity for me. Besides overseeing the completion of the station’s digital conversion and further developing our new Web venture, MyFOXMaine.com, I also look forward to concentrating on building stronger business and community relations in Maine,” he said.
