Beanie Baby Display
An adorable assortment of Beanie Babies from young collector Whitney Emerson of Windham, will be on display at the Windham Public Library through Nov. 16. More than 50 beanies from Whitney’s collection are on display. Stop by the library for a look at this fluffy collection. Call the library at 892-1908 for more information or for directions. Wheelers Meet

Makes Tennis Team
Jeremy Egan, son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Egan, recently made the tennis team at Northeastern University. Jeremy is a 2006 graduate of Windham High School. He is a sophomore majoring in Electrical Engineering.
Lions Collect Eyeglasses
Windham Lion Don Swander reports that 442 pairs of used eyeglasses were collected by the Windham Lions Club and delivered in September to the Maine Lions recycle eyeglasses program at its state lab in Waterboro. Thanks go to Windham area people who donated eyeglasses for this worthwhile project. This fall, please look for new Lions collection boxes at both Shaw’s and Hannaford, which will include a place to deposit used eyeglasses and a place to deposit used hearing aids that will be recycled for use by people who cannot afford to buy them.
Church Supper
A public bean supper will be held on Saturday, Oct. 27 from 5-6:30 p.m. at Windham Hill United Church of Christ, 140 Windham Center Road. Menu includes: hot dogs, three varieties of baked beans, potato salad, tossed salad, macaroni and cheese, dinner rolls, homemade pies, coffee, tea and punch. Price is $7 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under.
Tea at Library
The next Tea for You at the Windham Public Library will be on Tuesday, Oct. 23 at 1:30 p.m. Please join for tea and goodies. All ages are welcome and for more information, contact the library at 892-1908.
Family Reunion
Betty Barto of Montgomery Road, attended a family reunion in Milton, Mass. on Oct. 6. She went with her son, Roger, and his wife, Pearl, of Winter Harbor. Sue and Bill Hager and Rollin Barto also traveled to the reunion. This was a reunion of Betty’s mother’s family. People came from near and far including Rhode Island, California and Montana.
