Yachtsmen sink Patriots

The Gray-New Gloucester Patriots fell to 0-6 on the season as they came up on the short end of a 38-8 score at Falmouth Friday night.

Falmouth (2-4) jumped out to a 16-point halftime lead thanks to a 27-yard first quarter touchdown pass from Stefano Mancini to Sam Dunwoody. Mancini hooked up with Josh Mokarzel for a 26-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter.

While the score was a relatively close 16-0 at halftime, the Yachtsmen blew the game wide open in the third quarter with 22 points. Dunwoody had a huge quarter for Falmouth, scoring three touchdowns on runs of 32, 65 and two yards.

With the score 38-0, the Patriots continued to battle. They avoided the shutout when Ryan Blenk scored on a 55-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. Nick Audet made the score 38-8 when he added the two-point rush for the Patriots.

Lakers fall to York

York 20

Lake Region 6

The Lake Region Lakers dropped to 1-5 on the season as they lost at home 20-6 to York on Friday night.

York (5-1) came out of the gates quickly and had a 13-0 lead at halftime. After the break, Lake Region got on the board thanks to a Jake Albert touchdown.

The Patriots and the Lakers will square off this week as Lake Region travels to Gray-New Gloucester this Friday night with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m.
