This year, to celebrate Shawnee Peak’s 70th Anniversary, $15 from every kid’s season pass sold will be donated to the Maine Children’s Cancer Program, which is part of the Maine Medical Center in Portland.

“We have set a goal to donate $25,000 to the Maine Children’s Cancer Program,” said Chet Homer, Shawnee Peak owner. “We will donate $15 from every 07-08 Student and Junior pass, including the passes sold prior to the announcement of this program.”

New this year, Shawnee Peak is offering discounted Kids’ Season Passes to full-time year-round residents of Windham, Standish and Raymond (in addition to other Lakes Region communities). In an effort to allow more kids to purchase season passes, Shawnee Peak will extend the “early bird” price of $275 to kids ages 11-18 and $175 to kids ages 6-10 until Oct. 15. After that date, pass prices increase by $50.

In addition to the monetary donation, all current patients in the Cancer Program and their families will be given full, unrestricted season passes for the 2007-08 ski season.
