Sixth-grader Olivia Rottari, daughter of Robert and Jane Rottari of New Gloucester, was recently awarded a $500 tuition scholarship to Eastgate Christian School.

The scholarship was established in memory of New Gloucester resident and Eastgate Christian Fellowship member Laurie McKay and is presented yearly to a student who demonstrates excellence in three areas: service, character and academics.

The student recognized must demonstrate an attitude of service within the local community, exhibit strong moral and spiritual character, and demonstrate a commitment to achieving his or her full academic potential.
