Lake Region lost its second straight field hockey game on Tuesday with a 3-0 setback at Greely. That loss, coupled with the Lakers 2-1 loss at York last Friday afternoon leaves them with a 4-3-1 record with the regular season winding down in the next week. The Lakers are currently ranked fifth in the most recent West B Heal Point standings.
The Lakers rallied from a 1-0 deficit at York to tie the score on a Jess Corson goal. But the Wildcats added a late goal just before the half to give York a 2-1 advantage at the break. Lake Region did a nice job defensively, but they were unable to generate enough quality scoring chances in the second half to tie the score again.
The Lakers were scheduled to host Fryeburg Academy on Thursday, Sept. 27, followed by a home contest against Cape Elizabeth on Saturday morning at 11:30.
