The Gorham golf team moved to 7-0 on the season after Tuesday afternoon’s 11-2 win over Windham. Gorham was scheduled to face unbeaten Thornton Academy at the Gorham Country Club on Wednesday, Sept. 26, in a battle between two of the state’s top Class A golf teams. And those same two teams will meet at Biddeford-Saco Country Club on Tuesday in the final match of the regular season for both squads.
Against Windham, the Rams earned all of their points from the top five spots in the line-up. David Gushee picked up two pints at his customary No. 1 spot in the line-up with an incredible round of 32 at his home course. Daniel Chadwick grabbed two points at the No. 2 position with a round of 38. Tommy Stirling fired a 37 at No. 3 to earn another pair of points for the Rams. Ian Ryan carded a 43 from his No. 4 spot to win two points and Noah MacVane went around in 41 in the No. 5 position for another two points.
Gorham’s team total of 191 easily outdistanced Windham’s 226.
