A Lakes Region contingency went to Augusta on Tuesday for the “Freedom Walk” from the Augusta Armory to the State House. The event honored the victims of the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks as well as those who defend America. Standing in the Hall of Flags in the capitol building are, from left, Windham residents Donna Chapman, Lane Hiltunen, Rep. Gary Plummer, Col. Don McCormick, Tony Oberley and Shelley Emmons of Gray. The flag pictured contains the names of all those killed on Sept. 11. Courtesy photo
