The 19th Annual Spring Math Meet was held on Saturday, April 7 at Bonny Eagle High School.

There were 132 students in grades four through six from across the district competing for top honors in the areas of arithmetic, geometry and problem solving. In all, 55 fourth graders, 53 fifth graders and 24 sixth graders came to solve a variety of challenging math problems.

The top scorers at each grade level in each category were awarded ribbons in a ceremony immediately following the Math Meet. In all, 58 ribbons were awarded and 21 of those were for perfect scores.

Additionally, the top three scorers at each grade level were recognized for their outstanding performances. The top scorer at each grade level received an engraved plaque and the highest scoring student of the entire Math Meet will have his name engraved on a plaque with former Math Meet champions.

This year’s math meet winners are:

Grade 4: Arithmetic: 1st Place: Rachel Ratte (perfect score), Austin Flanagan (perfect score), Cole Tracy (perfect score); 2nd Place: Ethan Mackie; 3rd Place: Jeffrey Martin, Ryan Harris, Bailey Parenteau, Jacob Ryan, Rosanna Woodruff. Grade 5: Arithmetic: 1st Place: David Adams (perfect score), Cameron Brown (perfect score), Sierra Cooper (perfect score), Rebecca Howell (perfect score); 2nd Place: Sam Clift, Riley Sawyer; 3rd Place: Leah Carter. Geometry: 1st Place: Veronica Druchniak (perfect score); 2nd Place: Katelynne Aiken; 3rd Place: Cameron Brown, Leah Carter, Anna French, Shawna Meserve, Nate Schopen, Kelsey Sicard, Mary Szatkowski. Problem Solving: 1st Place: David Adams, Sam Clift, Veronica Druchniak, Kelsey Sicard; 2nd Place: Cameron Brown, Cole Libby, Carolyn VanAtta; 3rd Place: Brian Rollins.

Grade 6: Arithmetic: 1st Place: Boomer Druchniak (perfect score), Angelica Phipps (perfect score), Hannah Thomas(perfect score); 2nd Place: Garrett Holbrook, Matthew Hoyt, Tyler Nelson, Greta Niedermeyer; 3rd Place: Brian Wardwell, Deric Irish. Geometry:1st Place: Brian Wardwell (perfect score); 2nd Place: Ian Smith, Hannah Thomas; 3rd Place: Boomer Druchniak.

Problem Solving: 1st Place: Dustin Jack; 2nd Place: Ian Smith; 3rd Place: Boomer Druchniak, Matthew Hoyt.
