Gorham School Department has hired a new middle school principal and a school department business manager.

Robert J. Riley of Saco, principal of Lawrence Junior High School, will succeed Dennis Duquette as principal at Gorham Middle School. Duquette is leaving to become superintendent of School Union 29.

Leighton M. O’Connor of Dunbarton, N.H., director of finance and operations for the Concord, N.H., school district, replaces Paul Kelly as business schools business manager. Kelly will become chief financial officer for Thornton Academy in Saco.

Jim Hager, chairman of Gorham’s school committee, said Riley and O’Connor will start their new jobs in Gorham on July 1.
