Ongoing events:

• Steep Falls Public Library: Hours are Tuesday and Wednesday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Story hour for toddlers and preschool children is held Wednesday at 10 a.m. Story hour is free and open to the public.

• Active Senior Citizens of Standish holds meetings the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month at 11 a.m. at the Steep Falls Fire Barn. Lunch is $3 and reservations are required before 9 a.m. the Monday prior to the meeting. To reserve a spot, call Alvida at 642-4929 or June at 727-6215.

• American Legion Standish Memorial Post 128 meets every second and fourth Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Kiwanis Beach Road Club House on Route 25 in Standish. All veterans, past and present, are welcome.

Upcoming events:

March 1-31: Curves for Women in Windham is holding its annual food drive during the month of March. Women may join March 1 through the 10th with no service charge -based on an annual contract- when they bring in a full bag of groceries. For those not wishing to join, Curves will be accepting non-perishable, healthy food donations throughout the entire month. At the end of March, all food will be donated to the Windham Food Pantry.

March 16-18: Gorham High School Class of 2007 Project Graduation is holding a Silent Auction on Friday, March 16 from 5-11 pm, Saturday, March 17 from 5-11 p.m. and Sunday, March 18 from 12-6 p.m., at the Gorham High School Gym. Go to www.goghs.org, for a listing and pictures of the items.

March 16-18: “Bull In a China Shop” vintage comedy presented by The Daytime Players at Schoolhouse Arts Center, located at intersection of routes 114 and 35 in Standish. Tickets are $12-$14; reservations 642-3743. Show times are 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, 2 p.m. Sunday.

March 17: The Windham Land Trust is sponsoring a family fun afternoon at Windham Primary School cafeteria from1 to 4 p.m. Fun for the whole family (children must be accompanied by adult). $5 per person (under 5 is free). March 18: Rug-Hooking for Beginners at Casco Public Library from 2 to 4 p.m. This workshop will teach the basics for making your own rug. There will be six kits available ($55 each), which participants will be able to finish on their own. If you don’t choose to buy a kit, there will be plenty of opportunity to practice. March 22-25: The Lake Region High School Drama Club’s spring production is the musical “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.” Show dates are March 22, 23 and 24 at 7 p.m. and March 24 and 25 at 2 p.m. Tickets will be on sale at Hayes True Value in Bridgton, Krainin Real Estate offices in Bridgton, Naples and Raymond and at Lake Region High School. March 26: Windham Cancer Support Group will meet from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the Windham Public Library’s meeting room. The support group is open to anyone who wishes to discuss cancer concerns/issues. March 31: There will be an indoor yard sale at Jordan Small Middle School in Raymond from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. This is a benefit organized by a sixth grade community service class to help the Leukemia Foundation. March 31: The Casco Village Church United Church of Christ is having their monthly public supper at 5 p.m. in their Great Hall on Route 121 in Casco. This supper will include traditional home-made baked beans, casseroles, salads and lots of pies. It is being sponsored by the Casco Village Church Choir and Music Committee. April 2: Schoolhouse Arts Center at Sebago Lake is holding auditions for the musical Guys and Dolls on Monday, April 2, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. and on Tuesday, April 3, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Bring a song (with sheet music) to sing and be prepared to do cold readings from the script.
