The Gorham Transfer Station, located at 80 Huston Road, is no longer open to the public.

The public works department, also at 80 Huston Road, will still accept used motor oil and scrap metal by appointment only, Monday through Thursday between noon and 1 p.m.

The public works department also accepts leaves and grass clippings at any time, no appointment necessary. Compost units are also available for a cost of $30. The department also has a spring and fall brush drop off, held on two Saturdays in the spring and fall. The town will put a notice of the dates and time on the town’s Web site at www.gorham-me.org.

Residents can take any appliances, wood, etc. to Plan It Recycling & Transfer, located on Rt. 25 next door to Crockett Furniture near the Westbrook town line, in the Gorham Industrial Park. They are open Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. The phone number for Plan It Recycling and Transfer, Inc. is 854-5353.
