Schoolhouse Arts Center at Sebago Lake is offering some new classes this spring. Classes start Feb. 26 and run through May 12. Tuition for classes varies from $50 to $125 for a 10-week class.
New this spring are classes in Beginning Bagpiping (ages 10 and up) and Skincare & Make Up (ages 15 and up) on Monday evenings; Creative Movement (ages 3-4) and Bookmaking-Family Stories (all ages) on Tuesday evenings; Watercolor Painting (ages 7 and up) on Wednesday evenings; Mommy & Me Creative Movement (ages 2-4) on Thursday mornings; and a new Dance Team (ages 12 and up) on Thursday evenings.
These new classes along with Schoolhouse’s other classes in theater, music, languages, art, and dance offer a wide variety of arts classes to the Sebago Lake community. There is something for everybody from preschoolers through adults.
Preschoolers might enjoy a class in art, dance, or creative movement. Elementary-age students can take a class in acting, storybook theater, voice, drawing, bookmaking – family stories, conversational French, Japanese culture and language, guitar, big messy art, watercolor painting, and dance; or participate in the 1/2 Pint Players (a theater ensemble for ages 8-12) or the Youth Orchestra.
Teens might enjoy a class in acting, voice, drawing, bookmaking – family stories, skincare and make-up, conversational French, Japanese culture and language, guitar, beginning bagpiping, and watercolor painting; or participate in the Teen Theater Ensemble, Dance Team, or Youth Orchestra.
Adults could take a class in adult improvisation, skincare and make-up, beginning bagpiping, bookmaking – family stories, conversational French, Japanese culture and language, or life drawing. Many of these classes could be taken with children such as bookmaking – family stories or conversational French, or adults may want to take their own class while their children take a different one. Whatever the case may be, there is a discount for any individual or family who registers for more than one class.
So, don’t miss out! A registration night for classes is being held on Tuesday, Feb. 13, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Schoolhouse Arts Center. Schoolhouse is located near the intersection of Routes 35 and 114 in Sebago Lake Village.
