Complaints

Inside Job

On Jan. 22 at around 8 a.m., a representative from Cimino Construction on Pleasant Hill Road reported that a former female employee was suspected of stealing money from the company. On Jan. 25 at around 9:30 a.m., a representative from the company reported that four company checks totaling $794.27 had been forged and cashed. The suspect is the same for both cases.

Spanish acquisition?

On Jan. 23 at around 10:45 p.m., a resident of Plantation Drive, who advertised a crib and a dresser for sale, reported that a supposed buyer sent three U.S. Postal money orders for $1,000 each to the seller, which amounted to more than the asking price for the furniture. The buyer requested that the remaining money be sent to an address in Madrid, Spain. All three money orders proved to be fraudulent. The seller did not send the items or the money, and thus did not suffer any losses.
