Steep Falls Public Library: Hours are Tuesday and Wednesday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Story hour for toddlers and preschool children is held Wednesday at 10 a.m. Story hour is free and open to the public.

Active Senior Citizens of Standish holds meetings the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month at 11 a.m. at the Steep Falls Fire Barn. Lunch is $3 and reservations are required before 9 a.m. the Monday prior to the meeting. To reserve a spot, call Alvida at 642-4929 or June at 727-6215.

Feb. 8: Fiddlehead Center for the Arts located at 350 US Rt. 1 in Scarborough will host an open house at 6:30 p.m. accepting fall 2007 registrations for the FiddleStarts pre-school program. The program for ages 3-5 is based on the Italian Reggio Emilia approach to early education. It emphasizes the arts, science, language, communication and features music, movement, and yoga.
