Attention “wicked shahp”* spellers and those who like to watch spelling bees, the Windham Education Foundation’s second annual Pine Tree Spelling Bee, with special appearances by the Windham Chamber Singers and Maine Humorist Tim Sample as host, takes place Feb. 1 beginning at 7 p.m. at the Windham High School Performing Arts Center.

Tickets for those wishing to watch the bee, which features Maine-specific words, are $10 for adults and $5 for students. Those wanting to participate should contact Chris Farmer at 450-4600. Entry fee is $300 per three-member team. Spellers of all ages are invited to take part.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the Windham Education Foundation. Champions will be “forever” memorialized on a perpetual Windham Bee Champion Trophy. For more information, log onto www.windhameducationfoundation.com.
