Windham residents are invited to interact with the town council at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 30 at the Manchester Elementary School.

Town council member Elizabeth Wisecup said the event is an opportunity for people who are camera-shy to ask questions of the town council.

Meetings are normally televised on local channel WCCG TV-7 for Windham residents who wish to view town meetings without leaving their homes. This event, which is not considered a town meeting, will not be televised. The town council felt that the cameras may discourage some residents from asking questions of their elected officials.

“Highly interactive” is the way Town Manager Anthony Plante described the planned evening.

The town council normally meets on Tuesdays four times a month. The second and fourth Tuesdays are regular meetings while the first and third are workshop meetings where issues are discussed but no voting takes place. Four or five times each year, a month has a fifth Tuesday where the council does not normally meet. The meeting on the 30th is one such meeting.
