Library

Currently on display at the Windham Public Library are works by local artist Donna Borelli. The pieces, which cover a variety of topics from the war in Iraq to stilllifes of fruit, will be on display through Jan. 31, 2007. The Windham Public Library is located at 217 Windham Center Road, and is open 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays; 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays. Historical Society

The Windham Historical Society meets on Jan. 22. The meeting will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. in the public meeting room at the Windham Public Library. Remember, if your last name begins with A-M you are asked to bring something unique and see if you can “stump” the attendees.

Meeting

The Jan. 15 joint meeting of the Lake Region Shriners and the Portland Shrine Club was cancelled. The installaton of officers will be held at a later date.

Food Pantry

The Windham Food Pantry has opened again on Thursday mornings, just for seniors. The hours are 9-11 a.m. It is located next to the Public Safety Building.

Passports

The Windham Town Clerks Office will be holding a Passport & Photo Clinic on Thursday, Jan. 25 and will be open extended hours from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Each applicant needs to bring a certified birth certificate or an old Passport, driver’s license and two checks or money orders. They can also take the photos. Please call them at 892-1900 for more information.

Company

Clarence and Liz Wisecup, Highland Cliff Road, are enjoying the company of their son, Michael Wisecup, and his wife, Emily. They arrived here from California Jan. 12 and will spend two weeks.

Clothes Closet

A reminder that the Windham Cothes Closet can always use donated items. Winter jackets, blankets and throws are especially needed. All items will be given to a needy Windham family or individual. You may drop items off Mondays from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Please be sure they are clean, whole and usable.

Birthday Party

Martha Poland celebrated her birthday Jan. 5. There was a family party with the following attending: her husband, John; her children, Jami and Chelsi Parker; Kimberly Morrell; John Morrell: Josie Morrell; Kathy Gilman and Wayne, Doris and Joey Poland.
