This is a view of the intersection of Windham Center Road, Ward Road and Pope Road in the early 1900s with one of the first cars. The area was known then and is still known now as Windham Hill. The building shown was once the tavern where stagecoach drivers stopped overnight with their teams of horses. It looks a lot different in 2006. This image, along with dozens of others, was reproduced on postcards. Courtesy of Windham Historical Society
