Library
Currently on display at the Windham Public Library are works by local artist Donna Borelli. The pieces, which cover a variety of topics from the war in Iraq to still lives of fruit, will be on display through Jan. 31, 2007.
The Windham Public Library is located at 217 Windham Center Road, and is open 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, and 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday (9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday after Labor Day). Meeting
The Rebekah Lodge No. 71 will meet Jan. 3 in the Odd Fellows Hall. This is Past Noble Grands night and they will wear colored gowns. The lodge has eight active past Noble Grands and five charter members. Shirley Atkinson is in charge of the program and Wade Collett and Dannon are in charge of the refreshments.
Health Council
There will NOT be a meeting of the Windham Health Council in January but they will meet in February. Anyone with questions can contact one of the members.
Family Christmas
Elsie Haskell’s family enjoyed Christmas at her house. Those joining Elsie were: Clayton, Kathy and Harriet Haskell, Michael and Tammy Haskell, Trudy Haskell and Harriett’s friend Terry.
Thank You
The pet food donation day held Dec. 16 was the best one ever. They received tons and tons of food. Barbara Muir would like to give a special thanks to the Kennel Shop and the Wellness Pet Food representative. She would also like to thank everyone that donated, this is a big help to our food pantry.
Dean’s List
Jeremy Egan, son of Donald and Robyn Egan, of Highland Shore Road, made the dean’s list for the first semester at Northeastern University. Jeremy is a 2006 Windham High School graduate and is majoring in Computer Engineering. Congratulations!
Christmas entertaining
Lew and Joanne Weatherby, Gray Road, entertained members of Lew’s family for Christmas on Dec. 23. Those joining them were: his sister and brother-in-law, Sadie and David Ramsay and their son, Josh, of Cornish and his brother Kevin Weatherby and his wife Val of Standish. On Christmas Day they entertained members of Joanne’s family including; her parents, Paul and Betty Estes of West Baldwin and her son, Matt and his friend Bonnie. On Dec. 16 Lew and Joanne attended the Estes annual Christmas party in West Baldwin with family and friends.
