The 2007 Images of Sebago Lake Calendar, produced by the Portland Water District, is now available.
The calendar features dramatic images of Sebago Lake from amateur photographers who have captured the many moods of Maine’s second largest lake.
The Images of Sebago Lake Calendar debuted in 2006. According to District spokeswoman Michelle Clements, the calendar was such an overwhelming success, the district began planning the 2007 edition soon after its release.
The calendar recognizes local talent and their appreciation for Greater Portland’s drinking water source. Through a Sebago Lake fact of the month, the calendar also educates customers and lake users all year long.
“By posting the Images of Sebago Lake Calendar, people make a statement – they care about the lake and understand it is important to many different stakeholders,” stated Lynne Richard, PWD’s environmental education coordinator and calendar creator.
The calendar can be obtained at the Sebago Lake Ecology Center in Standish or the Portland offices at 225 Douglass Street. Supplies are limited. For more information, contact sebagolake@pwd.org.
