A fire destroyed the main sawmill of a South Casco lumber yard late Saturday night.

Casco Fire Chief John Small said the fire started around 11:25 p.m. at the Red Mill Lumber Yard, near the intersection of Route 302 and Brown Avenue. It was brought under control within two hours, he said.

Fire crews from Naples, Raymond, Otisfield and Poland helped fight the blaze.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office is still investigating the fire, Small said.
