Bob’s Discount Furniture announced the start of its annual Children’s Scholarship Art Contest.

Three students in each of the three age categories will be chosen, based upon their art submission, to receive a first place award of a $5,000 college scholarship, second place award of $1,000 credit for art lessons and third place award of $500 for art supplies.

Winning entries will be displayed during an 11-day art show at the Garde Art Center, New London, Conn., in March.

Each age category has a theme. Students from 7 to 10 are requested to create an entry using a “My Favorite Vacation Spot” theme. The theme for students ages 11 to 14 is “A Special Memory” and for ages 15 to 18, the theme is “The Perfect World.”
