Windham Historical Society, 234 Windham Center Road, will hold an Open House on Saturday, Nov. 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Unique gifts are available at very reasonable prices. Coverlets in three colors, on an ecru background feature historic sites in the town. Many books filled with pictures are on sale, as well as note paper, maps, glassware and commemorative plates. A selection of key chains and magnets, as well as coins struck at the time of the 250th anniversary, in pewter, bronze or silver (or in sets) will also be for sale. All proceeds help maintain the museum and other historic buildings the Society owns. The Society is a nonprofit educational organization dedicated to the preservation and collection of Windham history.
Free refreshments will be served, and displays set up for visitors to view. Included are Parson Smith House, farming tools, needlework, antique Christmas cards, toys and the newest addition, a quilt made by third-grade students as a result of their history tour of the town. Many other items are displayed and visitors may get information on how to join.
Stop in and enjoy a visit on your way to or from the Book and Bake Sale at the Windham Library right up the street.
