Republican incumbent Rich Cebra beat challenger Tom Bossie 2,211 to 1,738 votes. Cebra took 56 percent of the votes from Casco, Naples and Poland.

“I think my win was a validation of all the hard work I have done for this district,” said Cebra. “Now I am looking forward to working in a bipartisan manner to make sure we all work together for the people of the Lakes Region.”

Cebra has several pieces of legislation in the legislature already and will continue to work on projects that benefit his community.

“I will continue to work with the Route 302 coalition, the causeway bridge project, and local transportation issues,” said Cebra. “I am absolutely committed to the people of the 101 District, and I thank them for sending me back to work for them.”

Cebra’s challenger, Democrat Tom Bossie of Casco, accepted his defeat Tuesday night.

“We gave it our best shot,” said Bossie. “We really worked hard and overall it was a great learning experience for me, but I am not sure if I would run again.”

Naples voter Candy Reinhard was not sure whom she would vote for but chose Cebra at the polls.

“I usually lean toward the Republican side,” said Reinhard. “I think Cebra has done a good job.”
