Flu season is just about here, and clinics have been scheduled locally to dispense flu shots.

The Visiting Nurses Association is hosting a flu-shot clinic at the Cape Elizabeth Middle School, 14 Scott Dyer Road, on Tuesday, Nov. 14, from 2:30-4:30 p.m. Another clnic will be held at the South Portland City Hall, 25 Cottage Road, on Thursday, Nov. 16, from 10 a.m.-noon. Shots are $30 in South Portland and $25 in Cape.

The South Portland/Cape Elizabeth Rotary Club will assist the nurses with registration and transportation for senior citizens. South Portland residents on the bus line can get free tickets. Call Marge at 828-7493 to sign up for services offered by the Rotary club.

The club will also subsidize $10 for a limited number of flu shots for those senior citizens without Medicare or insurance coverage.

There will also be flu-shot clinics at St. Pius X Parish Hall at 492 Ocean Ave. in Portland on Friday, Nov. 17, from 1-4 p.m., and at Portland City Hall, 389 Congress St., Monday, Nov. 20, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Portland flu shots are $5 per dose.
