The following is why I believe Lani Kelly can lead the people of the 12th Senate District of the great state of Maine, serving Casco, Frye Island, Hollis, Raymond, Standish and Windham:

Lani Kelly has lived in Maine for more than 50 years. She loves the state of Maine and it is evident that her heart is for the people of Maine. Lani desires what all Mainers want and that is to enjoy their state, raise families and grow a business.

I believe Maine is in need of change and fresh leadership. I have been watching the state government move “progressively” to becoming the most taxed state in the Union while becoming second-to-last place in the country for economic growth.

Mainers have tearfully watched for too long their children once educated move away to other states just to get a job and survive. It is our responsibility to make Maine a growth state once again by putting real representation in Augusta.

Bill Diamond has consistently voted against small businesses by increasing taxes and regulations. The Maine business tax climate now ranks 49th in the nation. We need a more business- and a job-friendly legislator. Lani Kelly would give relief to small businesses by allowing them to grow and not have to find loopholes around government encroachments on their livelihood.

She will vote against further tax, fee and nuisance regulatory increases. Lani Kelly knows we cannot endure any more tax increases, let alone the current tax burden imposed upon us. She will vote for setting boundaries on out-of-control, unsustainable spending in government, by supporting TABOR.

As her pastor, I can confidently assure you that Lani Kelly is a capable, intelligent and confident leader who will lead the people of the 12th Senate District with integrity and moral courage. Her first priority will be to the people of Maine.
