Maine Audubon needs volunteers on weekdays during the school year to lead one-and-a-half-hour Nature Exploration Programs at Scarborough Marsh Audubon Center.

Voluteers are also needed at Fore River Audubon Sanctuary in Portland, Gilsland Farm Audubon Center in Falmouth and Mast Landing Audubon Sanctuary in Freeport.

No previous nature knowledge or teaching experience is necessary to lead the explorations, just a love of nature and a desire to share it with others. Volunteers will learn teaching techniques, seasonal changes in plants and animals and general ecology. Most program participants are school groups.

Training sessions are from 9:30 a.m.-noon on Tuesday, Sept. 26, at Gilsland Farm Audubon Center in Falmouth, and Wednesday, Sept. 27, at Mast Landing Audubon Sanctuary in Freeport, and from 1-3:30 p.m., Friday, Sept. 29 at Mast Landing. Special training arrangements can also be made.
