Crescent Beach in Cape Elizabeth would be one of many of Southern Maine’s popular beaches to disappear under rising sea levels.

This map from the Natural Resources Council of Maine shows parts of Scarborough that would flood with a one meter rise (red) and a six meter rise (yellow).

Even with a one meter rise (red) the Portland piers would be devastated. With a six meter rise much of the Old Port would be heavily damaged.

Regis Tremblay, 61, of Hill Crest Drive sits at Kettle Cove on Friday afternoon with his dog, Deuce, enjoying the coastal scenery that would be severely altered by a three-foot rise in ocean levels. Tremblay said he comes to the cove almost every day.
