Dr. Lisa Letourneau, a resident of Scarborough, is one of three members of the first class of Hanley Fellows with the Portland-based Daniel Hanley Center for Health Leadership.

Letourneau is partnering with Meg Baxter, who will serve as her mentor. Baxter is president of the United Way of Greater Portland, and chairs the Maine Medical Center Board of Trustees. Letourneau hopes to use her time as a Hanley Fellow to develop further her personal and organizational leadership skills.

Letourneau is a board-certified internist who began her career in emergency medicine. An interest in building connections between public health and clinical care led her to several leadership positions, including the board of the Maine Center for Public Health, the Cardiovascular Health Council and the Maine Medical Association’s Public Health Committee. Since 2000, Letourneau has been a key leader in MaineHealth’s system-wide clinical quality improvement initiatives.

Her medical degree is from the Dartmouth-Brown Joint Program in Medicine, and she also holds a master’s in public health from Harvard. She and her husband, Lee Chick, are the parents of two children, Sam and Abby.
