The South Portland Public Library turns 40 in December, and the Friends of South Portland Public Library are planning a celebration to mark the occasion. Among the activities scheduled to highlight this community milestone is a writing contest entitled “My Library Story.”
The rules are simple: Entries must be 500 words or less, and tell a story about the South Portland Public Library.
Entry categories are Grades K-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12, and adult. Entries should be sent to Writing Contest, c/o Friends of the South Portland Public Library, 482 Broadway, South Portland, Maine, 04106, and must be postmarked no later than Oct. 30, 2006.
All entries become the property of the Friends. Prizes will be awarded to the winning story in each category.
