The third annual Escapade Consignment Sport Sale will be held Saturday, Sept. 16, from 8:30 a.m.-noon, at the Cape Elizabeth Community Center parking lot. The rain date is Sept. 30.

Those who have sports equipment or seasonal outerwear in good condition can donate or sell at 50 percent consignment. Sale items include, but are not limited to, skis, ice skates, hockey equipment, inline skates, basketballs, soccer balls, cleats, shin and kneepads, baseball gloves and bats, lacrosse and football equipment. Jackets, sweaters, snow pants, vests as well as boots, gloves and mittens in good condition will also be sold. Consigners will be notified after the sale if their items were purchased. A tax receipt will be given for all donations and consignments.

Items can be dropped of at the Community Center on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Wednesday from 8- a.m.-p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Each item should include the donor’s name and a suggested sale.

Proceeds benefit Escapade, a program that provides high school and adult mentors to children with special needs so they can successfully participate in after-school and community programs with their peers. The program is funded by charitable grants and donations. This past spring Escapade received a generous grant from the Cape Elizabeth Education Foundation. This grant, plus the money earned from the sports sale, will help support the mentoring groups and activities in the program.
