If you think you’ve got what it takes to win a hotdog eating contest, Chicago Dog owner Mike Shea invites you to try.

On Saturday, Aug. 12, at 3 p.m., 10 contestants will try their hardest to cram in as many hotdogs as possible in just 10 minutes.

These are not naked hotdogs. They are fully loaded Chicago dogs complete with onions, condiments, hot peppers, pickles and other assorted dressings. If you still think you can handle it, you can register to compete at Chicago Dogs on Route 1 in Scarborough. Last year’s participants have preference, but any empty spots will be decided by lottery.

All are welcome to come and watch what Shea promises will be some “serious eating.”
