Casco Federal Credit Union has opened its new Westbrook Branch, located at 35 Cumberland St. next door to the Sappi mill.

The branch, which opened on June 5, celebrated its “official” grand opening on July 26 with a ribbon cutting, food and special giveaways.

Westbrook Mayor Bruce Chuluda cut the ribbon assisted by several credit union officials including President/Chief Executive Officer David Sayers, Vice President Katie O’Brien, Branch Manager Patricia Kenney, Chairman of the Board John Zerillo, Vice Chairman of the Board Ted Desveaux and John Murphy, president of the Maine Credit Union League, the state trade association for Maine’s credit unions.

The ribbon, made from 25, $20 bills taped together, was donated to the Westbrook Food Pantry. The donation is in keeping with Casco FCU’s participation in the Maine Credit Unions’ Campaign for Ending Hunger, a campaign that has raised more than $2 million to help end hunger in Maine.

“We are proud to be in this market and to deliver exceptional service to those who need convenient access to traditional financial services, and we are excited to provide the community the opportunity for one-on-one member service,” said Kenney.
