At press time the Gorham 11-year-old all-stars were scheduled to play Messalonskee Tuesday evening in the finals of the Cal Ripken League state tournament in Brunswick.

Gorham needed to defeat Messalonskee twice to be crowned champions of the double-elimination tournament, while Messalonskee, who had yet to loose, needed only defeat Gorham once.

Gorham advanced to the finals by defeating Andy Valley East, 11-1, and Andy Valley West, 5-0, Monday.
