Lost and found

On June 4 at about noon, an Old Ocean House Road area resident turned a wallet into the police department. In it was a Florida license, a Bank of America debit card, miscellaneous papers and $6.

On June 4 at about 5:15 p.m., a TD Banknorth Visa debit card was turned into the police department. The ranger at Fort Williams found it inside the donation box near Portland Head Light. Police tried to find a Mainer with the name on the card, but were unsuccessful. Banknorth will be contacted for follow-up.

On June 5 at about 3:20 p.m., the fire department found a blue, gray and black CD case with about 20, mostly homemade CDs in the fire department parking lot on Jordan Way. The value is about $20.

On June 8, a Sawyer area road resident reported losing a gold necklace in either Cape Elizabeth or South Portland. She could not say where or when she lost the necklace. She described the necklace as a 16-karat 24-inch yellow gold chain with a 16 karat yellow gold nugget. She estimated the value of the necklace and nugget at approximately $700.

Stolen

On June 4 at about 3 p.m., a Fowler Road area resident reported prescription drugs missing from her home. The women knew the person who stole the drugs and decided against pressing charges.

On June 8, a Massachusetts woman reported $8,500 stolen from her Bank of America savings account at the Cape Elizabeth branch. She has since closed her accounts and contacted bank security. Police say the theft was part of a larger ring of identity and information thefts. The case has been turned over to the FBI.

On June 9, a student’s 21-speed red mountain bike was stolen from the middle school bike racks. Police did not know if it was locked up.

Trespassed

On June 7, at about 6:15 p.m. a Mitchell Hill Road area man reported a vehicle speeding on his private access road. The property owner identified the man and police warned him that if he used the road as a throughway again, he could be prosecuted for trespassing.

On June 8 at about 3:35 p.m., a Mitchell Road area resident reported trespassing on his property.

Burned

On June 7 at about 2:30 p.m., a public works employee reported the Cape Elizabeth Little League concession stand was broken into and a fire was started. Police haven’t assessed the damage but said major renovations would need to be done to the building. The fire was contained within the stand. Food and drinks were also stolen.

Broken windows

On June 10, a Shore Road area road resident reported two house windows were damaged by BB pellets. The estimated damage is in excess of $3,000. This is the second time the home has been hit by BBs. Police said in January they found BBs lodged between two panes of broken glass.

Towed away

On June 8, at about 8:35 p.m., police found a tow trailer parked in the Two Lights Road area blocking one lane of traffic. Police ran the plates and found they were illegally attached. The vehicle was towed.

Arrests

On June 11, Kurt Parks, 42, of Fort Fairfield, was arrested on Broadway in South Portland and charged with two counts of violating a protection order.

Summonses

On June 8, a juvenile male, 17, was issued a summons on Scott Dyer Road for speeding 33 in a 15 mph zone.

On June 9, a juvenile male, 17, was issued a summons on Sawyer Road for speeding 53 in a 30 mph zone.

On June 9, a juvenile male, 17, was issued a summons on Mitchell Road for speeding 42 in a 30 mph zone.

On June 10, a juvenile male, 16, was issued a summons on Salt Spray Lane for speeding 38 in a 25 mph zone.

On June 8, Karl Nemitz, 22, of River Road, Buxton, was issued a summons on Sawyer Road for failure to produce insurance.

On June 10, Aaron Anker, 24, of Algonquin Road, was issued a summons on Route 77 for an uninspected motor vehicle.

Fire and Rescue

Cape Rescue squad responded to seven calls between June 6 and June 12. Five patients were transported to Maine Medical Center and two required no transport.

The Cape Elizabeth Fire Department responded to lines down on Spurwink Avenue on June 8; lines down on Oakhurst on June 8; an alarm on Shore Road at 2:09 a.m. on June 10; a Portland call at 2:16 a.m. on June 10; a water problem on Kenyon Lane at 3:35 p.m. on June 10; a fire alarm on Ocean House Road at 5:30 p.m. on June 11; a chimney fire on Wainwright Drive at 11:51 a.m. on June 12.
