Organizers of a Scarborough Habitat for Humanity Walk are seeking volunteers to assist on the day of the walk.

Volunteer opportunities include walk registration and rest stop support during the walk. Volunteers will also be needed to help with the pizza lunch at the Blue Point Congregational church at the end of the walk.

The Dairy Corner will give a small soft serve ice cream cone to all participants who present a Habitat Walk button the day of the Walk. Please plan to attend the final organizing meeting on Wednesday, April 12, at 7 p.m., at the FCC Annex, 161 Black Point Road. Walkers are encouraged to sign up in groups or as individuals for the 8.5-mile walk. Fundraising pledge sheets for all the area walks can be downloaded at www.habitatportlandme.org.

Brochures are available at Cartridge World on Post Road. The route for the Walk originates at the First Congregational Church at 167 Black Point Road Registration will take place between 8 and 8:30 a.m.

In 2005, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Portland reported over $60,000 earned in area walks, with the Scarborough walk contributing approximately $7,000.
