Scarborough High Boys Varsity Basketball Coach Matt Townsend and Scarborough Middle School Assistant Coach Tom Sullivan work with a group of first, second, third and fourth graders at a Saturday morning “Blacktop Basketball” session. The coaches worked on basics with the kids. Later, l9 boys and girls played in a two-on-two tourney as part of the program.

“This was a good day for the future of Scarborough basketball. 20 kids still playing hoops in the month of April, which is all too rare, and two coaches of the caliber of Matt Townsend and Tom Sullivan teaching the kids what they need to know. Can’t get much better than that,” said Dan Warren, organizer of the Saturday sessions in March and April by Scarborough Youth Sports Forum.
