This month Scarborough Girl Scouts held their Seventh Annual Father-Daughter/Just the Two of Us Dance. This year’s theme was “A Disco Ball.” Girl Scouts from kindergarten through 12th grade were in attendance with their “adult dance partners,” enjoying disco music, snacks and beverages provided by the troops, and decorations made by the girls themselves.

I would like to thank all the families that came to celebrate with us; the volunteer moms that helped out their troops; Brownie Troop 118 on “Opening,” Brownie Troop 2320 on “Closing,” Paul on video; Claudia, Cassi K. and Julie at the photo booth; Meghan and Heidi at the contest tables; Stacy K., Jenn B. Denise L., Vicki M., at “check-in,” Rhonda on First Aid;’ Pam D. as my assistant, Geri, Pam J. and Susan M. for all their help; Michael on the equipment; and especially JoAnne as this year’s Chair. A big thank you also goes out to all of the extra help we received for set-up and clean-up. This was truly a community event, and the Girl Scouts in our town truly appreciate everyone’s efforts. We’d also like to thank Scarborough Community Services for allowing us to use their facilities and McDonald’s for their cool orange refreshment.
