Kill a hawk

to save a duck

On Dec. 23, a Payne Road resident reported that a hawk had gotten into a pen and was attacking the homeowner’s ducks. The homeowner killed the hawk before police arrived. It was not clear how the bird was killed.

Missing Computer

On Dec. 19, employees at the Marriott Resident Inn reported the theft of an IBM computer tower valued at $1,200.

Snowball fight

On Dec. 19, a Crystal Lane resident reported that a group of juveniles were throwing rock-laden snowballs at her trailer. Police spoke with the youths and ordered them to stop.

Dog bite

On Dec. 20, police received a report that a dog bit a UPS man on Carriage Way.

Dangerous job

On Dec. 20, a worker pouring a foundation floor on Granite Street was taken to Maine Medical Center for over-exposure to carbon monoxide.

On Dec. 20, a Fenderson Place resident reported the theft of a Ski-Doo valued at $1,500.

Lost pot

On Dec. 22, police recovered a large bag of marijuana from the parking lot of Maine Indoor Carting. Police disposed of the substance.

Stop asking

On Dec. 23, a female who was walking between Enterprise Business Park and Scarborough Downs reported that an individual drove past her, asked her if she wanted a ride, and after declining the ride, the driver left. The driver drove past her two more times, each time asking if she wanted a ride and received the same response.

On Dec. 24, an Ash Swamp Road resident reported the theft of a Jeep Grand Cherokee valued at $9,000. The vehicle was later found at Cranberry Pines. Police have suspects and the case remains under investigation.

Merry Christmas

On Dec. 24, police received a report of an altercation between two Wal-Mart shoppers. Police say that a woman accused a man of running over her feet with a shopping carriage.

Santino Giusti, III, 25, of U.S. Route 1, Scarborough, was arrested on Route 1 near The Right Sub on a warrant charge of failing to appear for operating after his registration was suspended in Gorham.

Angela M. Ames, 22, of Deer Hill North, Standish, was arrested on Beech Ridge Road for operating a motor vehicle with suspended registration.

Dec. 21

Michael M. Drown, 25, of Main St., Saco, was arrested on Payne Road for operating defective motor vehicle. Michael P. Adelman, 23, on Main Street, Biddeford was arrested on Route 1 for operating under the influence.

Dec. 23

Brian R. Martell, 50, of Horton Place, Portland, was arrested on Route 1 for operating under the influence, sale and use of drug paraphernalia and possession of a useable amount of marijuana.

Mark A. Cyr, 39, of Lambert Street, Portland, was summonsed on Pleasant Hill Road for failing to produce evidence of insurance and speeding 25 to 29 mph over the speed limit.

Dustin Kelley, 22, of Ridge Road, Gorham, was summonsed on Running Hill Road for failing to register vehicle expired 30 to 150 days and failing to produce evidence of insurance.

Shannon M. Hunter, 19, of Courtland Courts in South Portland, was summonsed on Route 114 for permitting unlawful use, and improper plates.

Michael M. Drown, 25, of Main Street, Saco, was summonsed on Payne Road for displaying a fictitious certificate and operating unregistered motor vehicle – 150 days.
