A group of Bonny Eagle High School students volunteered to help out with a collection for the hurricane relief fund. The students are: Riley Samson, Max Morganstern, Josh Brown, Tia Shaw, Kayla Becker, and Kaitlin Williams. The group’s faculty advisor is Claudia Flynn.

Various classrooms collected bottles which were picked up each day by Josh Brown or Kayla Becker from the recycling group. Riley Samson or Max Morganstern then helped with the emptying and counting of the bottles and cans. Tia Shaw and Kaitlin Williams drove the bottles to the recycling center.

The group has only made three trips to the recycling center and already has $112.15 in the hurricane relief fund. Dawna Cyr, a teacher at the high school has started the collections and plans more during the year at the school. She is in the process of finding a school in the hurricane zone to “adopt” – one that was hurt, will reopen, and has similar demographics.
