A quilt show to benefit Project Linus, Portland/Southern and Central Maine Chapter will be held Saturday, Oct. 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Steep Falls Library, Route 113 in Standish.
Over 35 special quilts will be on display. Quilters from Central and Southern Maine were given a book and asked to make a blanket based on the book or characters in the story and add a pocket to hold the book on the quilt. These special quilts will be donated to Project Linus after the show for donation to the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital for patients there during the Holidays.
Last year’s show raised over $500 for the Southern and Central Maine Chapter of Project Linus and over 200 people viewed the special quilts. Admission to the show is free; voting is in the form of $1 toward your favorite quilt or quilts.
Project Linus is a national, non-profit, all volunteer organization who provide handmade quilts, and afghans to provide love, a sense of security warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized or otherwise in need.
