A benefit for Katrina victims will be held at the Lake Region Eagles Club on Route 302 in North Windham on Sunday, Oct. 16 from noon to closing.
The Lake Region Eagles and the Down East Country Music Association are sponsoring this event, and all proceeds will go to the Salvation Army fund for victims of Hurricane Katrina. In addition to a buffet, baked goods, raffles and auction, some of the best country music performers in the state of Maine are donating their time at this benefit.
All of the performers are award winners through the Down East Country Music Association, and many other similar organizations. Among those will be Florita, Brian Wardwell, The Jubilee’s and Elizabeth Decker. Three bands will perform, including a young boy from Windham, and his band. Kenny Tibbetts from WUBB Country in Rochester, NH will make a guest appearance. The entertainment will be non-stop.
Additionally, items for auction/raffle include many gift certificates from local businesses – grocery, restaurants, auto detailing, fitness centers, etc., as well as many items donated by private parties. Donations are still being accepted.
For more information or to make a donation contact Teresa at 776-3562, Sandy at 773-1896, or the Eagles club at 892-2911. Children are welcome. Admission is free.
