The George E. Jack School in Standish has collected donations for the past few weeks for hurricane relief. All those who made a contribution got to wear a hat all day in school on Friday, Sept. 23. The goal was to surpass the $1,000 the school raised in the spring for the tsunami victims. The school was very excited on Friday when the final results were announced. Students and staff had collected $1073.09. Here, George E. Jack students show off their “hat day” hats. In the back row, from left, is Boomer Druchniak, Tom Eppich, TJ Regan, Brittany Greenlaw. In front is Mitchell Burgess and Kristen Cates. Photo courtesy of Kathy Campbell
