Travis Adams was three-for-three, belted a home run and knocked in three runs as Rookies of Westbrook won the first side of a double header with Sanford in the Frozen Ropes Fall Baseball League Sunday.
Also keying that opening 10-7 win was Eric Anderson, who added a triple, knocked in a run and scored a run. Joe Cook, Alex Welch, Nick Marchant and Michael Anthony also knocked in runs for Westbrook in the win. Christian Hamilton earned the victory on the mound, coming in for three innings of relief, allowing just one earned run. Mike Nicholas also pitched and had five strike outs.
Sanford took game two of the double header, 16-1 in five innings. Westbrook scored its run when Cook knocked in Taylor Clouarte. Eric Anderson came on in relief of starter Cook and recorded four strikeouts in two innings in the losing effort.
Westbrook travels to the Falmouth Legion Field to play Falmouth at 1 p.m. this Sunday.
