The “Silver Bullets” recycling containers are open once again in Windham. Closed earlier this summer because some users were dropping off trash instead of recyclables, the containers are now located behind the Public Works Building on Windham Center Road. “We are hoping the abuse won’t happen again now that they’re located here where there are a lot of people and everybody sees everything,” said Edra Long, public works administrative assistant. The containers are open from 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. One bullet is designated for cardboard and paper products only; the other is for #1 and #2 plastics, aluminum cans and glass.
