The fourth annual Gorham Business & Civic Exchange “Fore a Scholarship” Golf Scramble raised $4,500.
After the event, teams enjoyed a chicken barbeque awards dinner in the clubhouse. Although the real winners are the Gorham graduating seniors who received scholarships for college, others who earned special recognition for their efforts include Roland Arsenault, low gross score; Shaw Brothers, low net score; Back in Motion Physical Therapy, low net co-ed; Mitch Woodbrey, men’s longest drive; Cindy Campbell, women’s longest drive.
“This year we had 30 sponsors, 15 gold sponsors and 15 hole sponsors,” said event organizer Jason Beever of C.E. Carll. Sponsors, mostly local businesses, helped to raise $4,500 this year. That money will be placed in the scholarship fund.
